Your Wildest Dreams are Possible

I fell in love with Everything French while growing up. I think the moment I watched “An American in Paris” I was hooked on the city of lights. I would fantasize about strolling down la rue and gazing out over the city from atop the Eiffel Tower. I glamorized the French culture in every way. Of course it was all just a dream since I grew up poor and even as an adult, I did not have the disposable income to take a trip to Paris. Then something changed.

I made a decision to live life to the fullest and to find a way or make one to fulfill my dreams. It started with understanding that I deserved all the good things that life had to offer. I took responsibility for the direction of my life and went back to school to become a physician. This was something I dreamed of about since I was a child.

Once I accomplished this goal, I knew that anything was possible as long as I worked for it and had a solid plan. So even as a poor medical student I started to tell everyone that I was going to Paris after I graduated. I didn’t know how I was going to do it. However, the more I repeated my desire and believed it, the universe conspired to make it real.

Sure enough, the week after graduating from medical school, I traveled to the city of my dreams, Paris. I had to pinch myself over and over because I couldn’t believe that I was actually there. I had the best time! It was real love this time and more than just a fantasy. It didn’t matter that I had to sleep on my mother’s hotel room floor because I couldn’t afford a room of my own. I had spent that money on a plane ticket for my 16 daughter. It didn’t matter that I could only afford to visit for 4 days. I was living the dream and so happy and grateful for it.

This trip taught me that the limits of my life are based on the limitations I put on my dreams. I know now that my wildest dreams can come true and so can yours. Unshackle your imagination! Put blinders on and GO FOR IT!
